Every summer, thousands of people pack the National Library of Israel's indoor and outdoor spaces for the annual Docu.Text Documentary Film Festival featuring five days of award-winning films, as well as conversations with prominent figures, music, exhibits of rare items from the National Library collections, and more.
With the pandemic presenting challenges and new opportunities for experiencing culture, this year's sixth annual Docu.Text Film Festival is going digital, with special programming for global audiences.
We’ve selected from among the best Israeli documentary films screened at the festival in years past – all related to culture, art, heritage, and identity – and are proud to offer an inspiring program including discussions with some of the films' creators; an exhibit of archival treasures from Avraham Sutzkever, the focus of feature film Black Honey; and much more, all to make your viewing experience like no other.
Docu.Text Film Festival is produced in collaboration with the Docaviv Film Festival and its international program is developed in collaboration with "Gesher L'Europa", the National Library of Israel’s initiative to share stories and connect with people, institutions and communities in Europe and beyond.
